Just in time for summer in Winnipeg, Heritage Cannabis Holdings Corp. has announced the launch of RADsicles, a cannabis-infused frozen edible meant to help consumers beat the heat with an intoxicating twist.
In late December, Heritage Cannabis reported it entered into a definitive agreement to acquire all of the issued and outstanding securities of Canada-based Premium 5 Ltd.
Part of the Premium 5 brand, RAD, the frozen edible treats will be available in what Heritage Cannabis calls four “nostalgic” flavours: Grape, Blue Raspberry, Cherry and Cream Soda. A company statement does not specify a suggested retail price or the potency of the products.
The hope is to soon have the frozen pops on store shelves across Winnipeg, but so far they will only be available in Ontario via the Ontario Cannabis Store (OCS). As of this week, OCS had reportedly received its first shipment and products have been ordered and shipped into Alberta and B.C.
For Canada in general, Heritage Cannabis reports that RAD is set to introduce 21 stock-keeping unit (SKU) listings across the country. The idea is to launch a number of new SKUs in the coming months.
“This will be an exciting summer for Heritage as we add to our portfolio of popular products with first-of-its-kind recreational and medical offerings, staying at the leading edge of product innovation in order to deliver consumers products they want, and capture and maintain shelf-space across Canada,” David Schwede, the company’s president of recreational, says in the statement.
The RAD value brand aims to respond to consumer demand for more affordable cannabis concentrate offerings, according to the company. The brand seeks to attract “consumers to the benefits of regulated and tested products through legacy-competitive pricing and in the interest of public health and safety.”
Heritage Cannabis also has plans to launch a variety of other products this summer, which it reports are “in the final development stages.” These products include live CBD concentrate, live rosin concentrate and soft-gel capsules.
“The variety of different product formats seek to appeal to the unique needs and preferences of all types of cannabis consumers,” Heritage Cannabis adds.
